As He is Pure
Come, all who are thirsty, whosoever will,
and take the water of life freely.
Revelation 22:17
Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea,
and they went out into the wilderness of Shur.
They went three days in the wilderness
and found no water.
And when they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink
of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter.
That’s why it’s called Marah.
And the people murmured against Moses, saying,
What will we drink?
And he cried to the Lord;
and the Lord showed him a tree,
3
that when he threw it into the waters,
the waters were made sweet. Exodus 15:25
As the bitterness in life becomes sweet
when we look to the cross of the Lord’s love.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man come to the Father, but by Me. John 14:6
All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers:
but the sheep did not hear them.
I am the door: by Me if any man enters in,
he will be saved.
4
The thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they might have life
and have it more abundantly. John 10:10
Behold, what manner of love
the Father has bestowed upon us,
that we are called the sons of God. 1 John 3:1
Beloved, now we are the sons of God,
and it doesn’t yet appear what we will be:
but we know that, when He appears,
we will be like him;
for we will see Him as He is.
5
And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself,
even as He is pure.
1 John 3:1-3
For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Hebrews 7:26
The furniture in God’s house on earth
was mostly acacia wood overlaid with pure gold
showing our humanity covered by His Deity.
6
He is pure truth.
Jesus never had one dishonest or impure thought,
word, or deed, in His 33 years on earth or forever.
He is the eternal Son of God
and Lord of heaven and earth.
The word of the Lord is right;
and all His works are done in truth.
It is impossible for God to lie.
Hebrews 16:18
7
He is pure goodness, infinite and eternal,
infinitely exquisite, goodness.
Moses asked to see God’s glory.
The Lord told him, I will make all of My goodness
pass before you, and I will proclaim
the name of the Lord before you. Exodus 33:19
God put Moses in the cleft of a towering rock
and covered him with His hand and passed by,
letting Moses see only His back as He called out,
8
The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious,
long suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
Exodus 34:6
He loves righteousness and justice.
the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made;
and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap.
9
He lays up the depth in storehouses.
All the earth fear the Lord and stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast. Psalm 33:4-9
That’s pure, infinite power.
Never once has the tiniest speck of His power been misused.
God said Light! And there was light. Genesis 1:3
10
Our fathers didn’t understand His wonders in Egypt;
they didn’t remember the multitude of His mercies;
but provoked Him at the Red Sea.
Nevertheless, He saved them for His name's sake,
to make His mighty power known.
He rebuked the Sea and it was dried up,
so He led them through the depths,
as through the wilderness.
And He saved them from the hand of those that hated them,
redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11
And the waters covered their enemies: not one of them was left.
Then they believed His words; they sang His praise.
Psalm 106:7-12
After His resurrection Jesus said,
All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.

12
Great in counsel, and mighty in work:
for Your eyes are open
on all the ways of the sons of men
to give everyone according to his ways,
and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 32:19
He is pure love, infinite love:
For God so loved the world
that He gave His only Son,
that whosoever believes in Him
will not perish
but has everlasting life.
John 3:16
13
He rescued mankind at the greatest price
ever paid for anything.
You weren’t redeemed with corruptible things,
like silver and gold,
but with the infinitely precious blood of Christ.
1 Peter 1:18,19
God, who at various times and in different ways in time past
spoke to the fathers by the prophets,
Has in these last days spoken to us by His Son,
whom He appointed heir of all things,
by whom also He made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of His glory,
14
and the exact image of His person and
upholding all things by the word of His power,
when He had, by Himself, purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Hebrews 1:1-3
Holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners,
higher than the heavens,
by one sacrifice perfected forever those who believe.
Hebrews 7:26
Who promises, I will come again and receiver you to Myself. John 14:3
